Dinosaur

Tsintaosaurus

Like other hadrosaurs, it may have lived in groups, although its behavior must be inferred from fossils.

Tsintaosaurus packed many teeth into its mouth to process plants.

Beyond the game

The real Tsintaosaurus

It had the typical duck-billed snout and batteries of teeth for processing vegetation. It measured around eight meters and could move on four legs.

Like other hadrosaurs, it may have lived in groups. Researchers investigate this possibility through the fossil record. It is a useful starting point, but cannot establish every detail of its social behavior with certainty.

Hadrosaurids had dental batteries for processing vegetation. Some had hollow crests and others lacked them: “duck-billed” does not mean they were ducks or that they all ate the same foods.
