Beyond the game

The real Sinoceratops

It was described from skulls found in Zhucheng, China. The discovery expanded knowledge of large ceratopsids beyond North America, where many of their most famous members had been found.

Similarities with other ceratopsids help researchers study evolutionary connections between Asia and North America. A modern map is only a starting point: the land, seas and possible routes between them were different in the past.
