Beyond the game

The real Styracosaurus

It ate plants, cutting them with a beak and tightly packed teeth. Long spikes edged the neck frill, and a great horn rose from the snout. Adults were around five meters long.

Its voluminous body was supported by robust legs and ended in a relatively short tail. Behind that striking head was an animal dedicated to processing plants. Its beak and numerous teeth tell as much about its life as the horns.

This family includes large dinosaurs with beaks, frills, and horns or bony bumps. These structures help distinguish lineages, but their shape alone cannot establish each species’ behavior.
