Beyond the game
The real Tuojiangosaurus
This stegosaur measured about six and a half meters long. Pairs of narrow, pointed plates lined its back, and two pairs of spikes armed the end of its tail.
The arrangement of these structures can be compared with those of other stegosaurs. Its relatives did not all carry plates of the same shape or combine them in the same way.
Stegosaurids carried bony plates and spikes along its backs and tails. The plates were not parts of the vertebrae; they were structures in the skin called osteoderms.
