Beyond the game

The real Doedicurus

It was a glyptodont with a rounded body protected by a heavy shell. Its relationship links it with armadillos and, more broadly, with sloths and anteaters.

Some fractures in armored shells have been linked to blows from the tails of animals in this group. Such injuries offer clues to possible encounters, though a mark cannot reveal every detail of what happened.

This grouping describes evolutionary relationships. Its members share ancestors; they do not form a chain in which one must turn into another.
