Beyond the game

The real Anchiceratops

Its skull carried two long horns above the eyes and a shorter one on the snout. The neck frill was long and rectangular, with large triangular projections along its rim.

The shape of the frill’s rim matters as much as the size of the horns when identifying it. Ceratopsians shared a basic head structure but developed it in very different ways.

This family includes large dinosaurs with beaks, frills, and horns or bony bumps. These structures help distinguish lineages, but their shape alone cannot establish each species’ behavior.
