Beyond the game
The real Procoptodon goliah
The genus included short-faced kangaroos of different sizes. P. goliah could reach about two meters in height and more than two hundred kilos, while other species were much smaller.
The genus also included much smaller species. The height estimated for P. goliah should not automatically be applied to every fossil identified as Procoptodon.
This grouping describes evolutionary relationships. Its members share ancestors; they do not form a chain in which one must turn into another.
