Beyond the game
The real Lourinhasaurus
The main specimen was found near Alenquer, Portugal, and is kept in Lisbon. Although its name recalls Lourinhã, that skeleton did not come from that municipality.
Its story passed through several scientific names before Lourinhasaurus was recognized. It should not be confused with Lourinhanosaurus: the names are very similar, but that animal was a two-legged predator, while this one was a great plant eater.
