Camarasaurus

It shared the Morrison Formation with other large sauropods, such as Diplodocus and Brachiosaurus.

The numerous specimens of Camarasaurus allow us to compare animals of different ages and observe how they changed as they grew.

Beyond the game

The real Camarasaurus

Hundreds of specimens are known, including almost complete skeletons and various ages. Its robust skull and spoon-shaped teeth gave it a way of feeding different from that of other sauropods.

It shared the Morrison Formation with other large sauropods, such as Diplodocus and Brachiosaurus. Its teeth and skull help differentiate it from other large herbivores in the same environment. Sharing a landscape does not mean eating in the same way.

This grouping describes evolutionary relationships. Its members share ancestors; they do not form a chain in which one must turn into another.
