Homalocephale

It was described from an incomplete skull and other bones of the body.

The low skull of Homalocephale opened a debate: was it a distinct animal or a juvenile phase of another?

Beyond the game

The real Homalocephale

It was small, about 1.8 meters, and possibly omnivorous. Its low skull motivated debates about whether it was a juvenile form of Prenocephale, although other juvenile specimens support distinguishing them.

It was described from an incomplete skull and other bones of the body. The appearance of more young specimens allows us to compare this possibility. In this case, distinguishing species also requires studying how the head changed during growth.

This grouping describes evolutionary relationships. Its members share ancestors; they do not form a chain in which one must turn into another.
