Beyond the game
The real Gobisaurus
It was a herbivorous armored dinosaur of the ankylosaurid lineage. The only recognized species in the genus is G. domoculus.
That proportion is an important clue to its build, but only one part of its identity. Researchers compare many traits together to place it among the ankylosaurids.
Ankylosaurids were protected by bones embedded in their skin. Many had a tail club, but the arrangement of the armor and the shape of the club vary between species.
