Beyond the game

The real Deinosuchus

It was a crocodilian much larger than living species. More recent finds have corrected older skull reconstructions and helped reveal more of its body.

Its fossils have been found both in the United States and in northern Mexico. Its reconstruction has not remained fixed: new findings corrected the shape that had been proposed for the skull. Modern images incorporate this revision of fossil material.

This grouping describes evolutionary relationships. Its members share ancestors; they do not form a chain in which one must turn into another.
