The real Caiuajara

Caiuajara was a crested pterosaur with a conspicuous head ornament. Its fossils make the changing relationship between crest and body especially relevant to a three-stage character.

Its conspicuous crest changed the profile of the head above a pterosaur body. The wings were supported by elongated fourth fingers rather than the feathered construction of birds.
