Beyond the game
The real Tanycolagreus
The remains were found in the Morrison Formation in the western United States. Plant eaters of very different sizes lived there with several kinds of predators, not just the most famous large meat eaters.
Its closer relationships are still being reassessed, so it is presented within the broad coelurosaur group. Acknowledging this limit avoids false certainty and leaves room to update the entry when new comparisons clarify its relationships.
