Beyond the game
The real Riojasaurus
It was a herbivorous sauropodomorph measuring about six and a half meters. Its name recalls La Rioja, the Argentine province where it was found in the Los Colorados Formation.
Different parts of one skeleton can solve different problems. The limbs support the body, while the vertebrae also offer clues to how its mass was distributed.
This grouping describes evolutionary relationships. Its members share ancestors; they do not form a chain in which one must turn into another.
