Beyond the game
The real Leptoceratops
It is known from skulls and skeletons, including a complete one recovered along with two others. Some fossils that were formerly attributed to it were later separated into other genera.
Its head lacked the large horns of ceratopsids such as Triceratops. Complete skeletons help compare the body in addition to the skull. Revisions have separated some fossils previously attributed to the genus to better recognize its diversity.
This grouping describes evolutionary relationships. Its members share ancestors; they do not form a chain in which one must turn into another.
