Beyond the game
The real Garudimimus
It is known from a single specimen found and described in 1981. Its detailed revision in 2005 corrected several previous interpretations of the anatomy of this ornithomimosaur.
Its fossils come from the Mongolian locality of Bayshin Tsav. A detailed re-examination corrected ideas about its anatomy decades after its description. New discoveries can come from understanding an existing bone better, as well as finding another one.
This grouping describes evolutionary relationships. Its members share ancestors; they do not form a chain in which one must turn into another.
