Beyond the game

The real Europelta

Europelta was an armored plant-eating dinosaur with a broad body and protective bony coverings. It belonged to a branch of ankylosaurs that did not carry the familiar heavy tail club.

The armor and skull provide distinctive anatomical evidence within the nodosaurid branch. Its tail lacked the heavy club associated with a different group of ankylosaurs.
