Europasaurus

Its small size is thought to be an example of island dwarfism: a species becoming smaller while living on an island.

Europasaurus was a small sauropod whose size has been linked to island life.

Beyond the game

The real Europasaurus

It was a herbivorous sauropod with four legs and a small size. It is interpreted as an example of insular dwarfism, favored by the isolation of a population on a Jurassic island.

Island dwarfism is the proposed explanation for its small size. That does not mean an individual shrank on arriving at an island. It describes change over generations in a population.

This grouping describes evolutionary relationships. Its members share ancestors; they do not form a chain in which one must turn into another.
